A guide to the materials I use

Paper-mache: These masks have a lovely texture, similar to antique Venetian masks. Painted with acrylic paints and sealed inside and out with clear acrylic-enamel paint or artist's wax to help repel dirt and moisture. Extra detail may be added to some mask designs using sculpted modeling compounds prior to the application of the final paper layer.

Neoprene: A synthetic latex material, liquid neoprene is slush cast into a plaster mold creating masks with an incredible amount of detail. They are also slightly flexible, allowing them to fit a slightly more diverse variety of face sizes. Neoprene masks are resistant to perspiration and rain, and are very easy to clean. These are not available in economy versions.

Thermoformed: Durable thermoformed plastic painted with artist's acrylics and enamel paints over a slightly textured paint base. An attractive but affordable alternative to the paper-finish and neoprene masks. Also offers excellent resistance to perspiration and rain.

Enjoy your stay !
